Courtney Ann Sanford, 32, died in a car crash just moments after updating her Facebook status. According to investigators, her car crossed the median and crashed head on into a truck on Interstate 85 last Thursday.
The police report stated Sanford “became distracted by using a smartphone for internet access just prior to losing control of her vehicle.”
Her Facebook post, dated just a minute prior to her crash, read, “The happy song makes me HAPPY.” Investigators also believe she was posting selfies while driving.
The driver of the truck saw her cross the median, but was unable to avoid the crash. He was not injured.
