Kid-Friendly Phone with GPS Tracker Hits Stores

The Sprint WeGO, a cell phone targeted at five year olds, is now available at Sprint stores nationwide. Parents concerned about their young child having internet access need not worry, the small phone doesn’t have internet access and can only make calls and send texts.

Texts can only be sent from ready-made templates like “I need a ride,” and “I’m leaving school.” Also, the phone only holds 20 contacts that can be programmed from the parent’s phone.

Additionally, WeGo features a built in GPS tracking device allowing parents to keep track of their child’s movements through an app on the parent’s phone.  The GPS tracker also shows how fast a child is traveling in a car.

Sprint exclusively carries the phone for $120 and requires a $9.99 monthly fee.
