GPS Tracking for Runners in 2014 OKC Marathon

Runners in the OKC marathon on April 27, 2014 will all have GPS tracking devices. The run is in honor of the victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing and the GPS tracking will be managed by US Fleet Tracking who is headquartered just outside of the city.

The company provides management services for businesses and large public events like Super Bowls, the Pro Bowl, NHL All-Star game, several Olympic games, and the 2012 Republican national convention.

This year, over 24,000 runners are expected to turn out for the event. The tracking system also has integrated weather radar and cloud cover imagery ensuring up to the minute weather information for race operators.
