Curious about what your feline gets up to in the great outdoors? Now your furry friend can participate in a Cat Tracker, a GPS tracking study that monitors cats’ outdoor behaviors.
To participate, owners must be willing to make a DIY GPS harness, allow the kitty to roam free for nine days, and then upload the data. Registration is easy and owners can do it themselves online. The questionnaire includes questions about the cat like age and weight, and asks about other pets in the household.
Your Wild Life is running the project in conjunction with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science and Movebank, an animal tracking database. Feline owners who live in the Raleigh-Durham area can look into borrowing a harness from the Cat Tracker team.
