GPS Tracking Device Helps Nab San Diego Bank Robber

A suspected bank robber in San Diego was apprehended with the aid of a GPS tracking Device.

Around 1:45pm, a Wells Fargo Bank in Clairemont reported being robbed by a person in a black mask and sweatshirt and who simulated having a weapon. The robber demanded cash and fled with an unknown sum.  He also fled with a GPS tracker embedded in the money.

Officers were able to determine the robbery suspect’s location and pursue him with the help of a helicopter. After crashing into multiple vehicles, the suspect fled on foot and was arrested a short time later.
