Telematics is the use of technology to manage fleet vehicles and Mr. Palmer will discuss how it can help make your fleet greener and more efficient.

Mr. Palmer’s speech will reiterate that in light of today’s environmental issues and corporate responsibility expectations, the concept of Green Fleet Management should be important to all fleet managers, whether you have a fleet of one or one thousand. Developing and managing a green fleet requires a thorough knowledge of available products, technologies, and an in-depth cost-benefit analysis, plus much more.

The Green Fleet Management Conference Panel Discussions will cover the following topics:

What are the most useful tools to manage vehicle fleets?

Do fuel-smart driving practices and driver training have a significant impact on fleet emissions reductions?

Is managing a green fleet an important selling point and a valuable improvement to a company’s brand image? Are green fleet vehicles an effective marketing tool?

How does managing a green fleet effect the bottom line? Are the current green fleet options cost-effective and sustainable? What kind of ROIs can companies expect to see from upgrading to a green fleet? Will fuel savings outweigh upgrade costs?

What were the important lessons learned from the Green Fleet Conferences held this year in Frankfurt and Paris?

What are the benefits and limitations of alternative fleet options – biofuel, electric, hybrid, natural gas?

What are the costs and challenges associated with the infrastructure requirements for fueling and/or vehicle charging stations?

Is it more cost-effective and environmentally responsible to convert traditional gasoline or diesel vehicles or should you replace them?

What types of energy management systems would need to be put in place to manage the electricity required for an active electric fleet? Would this be disruptive or beneficial to the grid?

What is the current status on Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology? At this time, should its prospects be factored into green fleet management decisions?

What financial, tax, and manufacturer incentives are available?

In addition to tax rebates, are there other financial incentives in place (free/reduced parking/tolls, manufacturer incentives, more?) for driving a green vehicle?

Does a green fleet have a tangible effect on the well being of the company and greater community?

Who is Agrion? Agrion brings together entrepreneurs, investors and corporations involved in energy, cleantech, raw materials, sustainable development, mobility and urban management. Agrion was created in 2006 by a group of world-renowned business leaders and entrepreneurs including François-Henri Pinault (Owner of Gucci Group), Steve Ballmer (CEO of Microsoft), Sir Martin Sorrell (Founder of WPP), Wu Janmin (President of the Beijing Institute for Diplomacy and former ambassador of China to several countries), Gehard Zeiler (CEO of RTL, the leading German media group) and other international leaders.

What is FieldLogix? GPS fleet tracking and fleet management system, FieldLogix, can quickly slash vehicle fuel consumption and reduce greenhouse gas and CO2 fleet emissions. FieldlLogix GPS fleet management system will give your fleet managers a GREEN Fleet Tracking Report that is easy to understand and utilize to develop a green fleet strategy.
San Diego, CA – May 5, 2008 – Nothing is more troubling than finding out that you have been losing money for years and didn’t even know it. This is exactly what happened to Carlos Contreras at Sunshine Landscape in Palm Desert , CA . Carlos’ team of 15 employees have been using paper timesheets for years to document their work hours for payroll reporting. In his words, these paper timesheets were based on an “honor system”. The employees would document their work hours and would turn the timesheets in at the end of the week. He always suspected that some things didn’t quite add up with the hours they documented and what actually took place in the field. Carlos then decided that GPS tracking would help him address these concerns and give him more control over what took place in the field. After researching 5 different GPS fleet tracking systems, he selected FieldLogix due to its user-friendly interface, affordable hardware, and extensive e-mail alert features.

Upon installing FieldLogix, Carlos’ suspicions were immediately confirmed. By using the system’s activity reports, he found that his “honor system” was being abused by his employees. By having an accurate way to measure daily work hours, his overtime costs dropped immediately. In fact, his overtime costs dropped by more than 2 hours per man per day with no change in the workload. Based on his calculations, he paid for the entire first year of the system within the first 18 days. Carlos stated: “It dropped my labor costs by 35-45 percent.” Carlos mentioned that he wished that he bought a GPS system years ago, but put it off because it wasn’t a high priority at the time. Carlos is not alone in his discovery. A study by the Aberdeen Group reports that companies that have implemented a GPS tracking system see a 13.4 percent average reduction in overtime costs.

FieldLogix is an advanced, yet affordable GPS fleet management product that provides real-time location updates for vehicles and construction equipment. It automatically monitors activities such as excessive engine idling, speeding, and personal use of company vehicles. It has been described as “GPS on auto-pilot”, because users can create operating policies in the system and they receive e-mail alerts when operators do not comply with these policies. This includes alerts for afterhours use, excessive speeding, and deviations from a specified operating schedule. In addition, it provides real-time location updates for vehicles and equipment and sends maintenance reminder alerts when they are due for service.

Now is a better time than ever to implement a GPS fleet management system. It helps companies cut waste and run a “tighter ship” when operating costs are high. The improvements in operations will benefit companies even more significantly when the economic environment returns to normal.

About Field Technologies: Field Technologies provides GPS vehicle
and equipment tracking systems to companies throughout the United
States. The systems operate with technology developed by industry
leaders such as Microsoft, Motorola, T-Mobile, AT&T Wireless,
and Cingular. Due to its industry-leading sales consultation and
customer support, Field Technologies has grown significantly and
now has GPS tracking devices installed in hundreds of assets nationwide.

San Diego, CA – April 2, 2008 – With the rise of fuel costs and a sluggish economy, companies throughout the country are seeking ways to reduce their operating costs. One way to reduce costs dramatically is through the use of a GPS fleet tracking system. GPS tracking systems have long been known to save companies thousands of dollars in fuel each year. In fact, the Aberdeen Group recently surveyed users of GPS fleet management systems and found that they were able to reduce fuel costs by an average of 13.2 percent.

Ron Dunphy, president of Dunphy’s Extermapest in Palm Springs, California has also seen a significant reduction in fuel costs since implementing FieldLogix, a GPS fleet tracking system developed by Field Technologies. “Before implementing FieldLogix, and when gas prices were lower, I was spending $3,400 a month on fuel for my 10 vehicles. After installing FieldLogix on my vehicles, I now spend $2,700 per month on fuel, even with higher gas prices!” These savings total $700 per month (or $8,400 per year), which is more than double the amount he spends on the FieldLogix GPS tracking system. These savings are realized before factoring in the additional revenue that FieldLogix is bringing to his company. He states, “I no longer have to turn down jobs because my guys tell me they are too busy when, in fact, they are just sitting at home having a beer. By knowing where they actually are, I can determine who can take what service call and bring in more revenue for my business”.

San Diego , CA – January 31, 2008 – Field Technologies announces that it has increased sales of its FieldLogix units by 803% over the last 6 month period. The combination of a user-friendly interface, affordable equipment, and advanced notification features allowed the company to increase FieldLogix sales significantly. In fact, sales of FieldLogix have significantly outpaced those of the legacy products that the company resold during the same time period.

“Creating FieldLogix was a long-envisioned dream of ours. As a former reseller, we saw first hand what everyone else in our industry was doing and knew that we could do much better. We commenced development of FieldLogix in May of 2006 and experienced many of the challenges associated with developing a product that we wanted to be superior to everything else in the market. This significant sales increase is a testament to our patience and determination. With many more advanced features in our development plan, we are confident that FieldLogix will eventually become the standard in GPS fleet tracking”.

San Diego , CA – January 18, 2008 – Field Technologies announces two new notification features for FieldLogix. The first notification feature alerts the users through e-mail or SMS when vehicles operate during off hours. This ensures that companies receive immediate notification if vehicles are stolen or driven by employees during off-hour periods. The second notification alerts the users when drivers start their work days late or end the work days early. The users can schedule the drivers’ shifts. If the drivers start working later than the scheduled time, the user receives an e-mail notification. The user also receives an e-mail alert if the drivers stop working earlier than the scheduled time.

“We believe that an extensive set of notification features is a key ingredient to a successful GPS fleet tracking product. Most GPS fleet tracking systems provide minimal notifications and require users to dedicate valuable administrative time to reviewing hundreds of pages of reports to discover inefficiencies. Through our experiences as a former GPS product reseller, we found that most users do not have time to do this. We believe that users must manage by exception and use a system that automatically notifies them when productivity issues arise.”

“This is a great accomplishment considering the fact that we have seen many GPS tracking providers come and go over the past five years. In an industry notorious for ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ providers, our focus on providing top quality products and customer support has allowed us to grow at an exponential rate. With the launch of FieldLogix and continued improvements to our operational structure, our potential for great success has increased dramatically”.

About Field Technologies: Field Technologies provides GPS tracking systems to companies throughout the US. The company provides products that operate with technologies developed by industry leaders such as Tremble, Microsoft, Motorola, T-Mobile and AT&T Wireless. Due to its industry leading sales consultation and customer support, Field Technologies has grown dramatically and has GPS devices installed in thousands of vehicles nationwide.

San Diego, CA – February 2, 2007 – Field Technologies announces that it has launched FieldLogix. The system is an affordable alternative to many of the existing GPS products.

The product has three primary advantages.

1. User-friendly: Unlike most very complex GPS fleet management solutions, FieldLogix was built to be extremely user-friendly. This virtually eliminates any training downtime for dispatchers and ensures that the system is fully utilized.

2. Notification-rich: FieldLogix offers more notification alerts than any other system. Such a rich set of notification features releases you from the tedious task of reviewing pages of reports each week. FieldLogix will automatically e-mail users when drivers are not adhering to their required activities.

3. Low hardware costs: By utilizing the best in class 3rd party GPS devices, the upfront equipment costs are among the most competitive in the market. Our equipment costs are, on average, 35% lower than most systems.

“Field Technologies’ started as a reseller for the most popular GPS tracking products at the time. During this phase in our business, we learned that most systems were much too complicated and weren’t utilized to their full potential. They also required the users to dedicate staff time to reviewing mountains of reports at the end of the week to ‘discover’ unproductive activities. We also found that many of these companies used proprietary hardware that only worked with their software. We decided to create FieldLogix to address these issues. It was created to be an affordable, easy to use, and automated solution.”
